Building Regulation Drawings

Building regulation drawings must have enough information to satisfy building control. They also need to have enough information included for a contractor to accurately price as well as a detailed set of construction specification notes to allow the contractor to price and ultimately build from. Building control will check that all these points are compliant with building regulations.  

 

The UK/Scottish government has created approved documents; " The Scottish planning policy " which includes information that must be followed to satisfied building control these range from the structure, ventilation, fire safety and site preparation. Some of the categories do not apply to all proposals. For example, approved document D relates to toxic substances but this would not be relevant in the case of a garage conversion.
